My interest in music started at a very early age. I was exposed to mostly Indian music with a little classical and some rock and roll from the late 60s. Oddly enough, I never developed much of a ear for Indian music, but I became a fan of classical and rock music. Matter of fact, I liked Led Zeppelin since I was 3, an age when most kids are listening to nursery rhymes! Later on in my teen years, I collected pop music (mostly Michael Jackson, Madonna and the 80's pop), more to fit in with my peers rather than because I liked it. However, I found that while my friends listened to the pop tunes, I was more into the guitar solo in "Beat It" from the Thriller album. Shortly thereafter, I found out that Eddie Van Halen really played that solo. Around the same time, I happened to find an album containing ballads by bands such as The Scorpions, Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin and so on. That's when I reverted back to becoming a rock/metal fan and it's pretty much stayed that way since. I discovered the blues later, when I was researching the origins of rock and found out that I like blues as well. If you think it's pretty strange that someone can actually appreciate classical, blues and metal, it's actually not all that weird. Turns out that since classical baroque and blues music are metal's biggest influences, there's something in those styles that a lot of classic metal fans appreciate. I was so relieved when I found out that I wasn't the only one who liked all three styles.

My music collection is rather extensive and classifying the various CDs I own is a pretty major job. It gets ever harder because I usually buy at least a couple of CDs every month. I generally like listening to classical music, blues, rock and heavy metal from the early 70s and 80s (no, I hate hair bands). In addition, I do like the occasional album from other countries as well as some local bands in the Los Angeles area.

I don't consider the fame of the artist when I purchase a CD, so you might find a few obscure bands in here. I have songs by virtually unknown bands such as Tobruk, Kruiz, Prism etc. With all that said, here's a list of all the albums I own on CD, grouped by various genres of music. Please select a genre from the menu on the left to view items in that genre.
